Third Trimester-Another Quick School Year!!!!
Preschool and Kindergarten have been having fun with lots more to come. We will continue our catching, throwing, target hitting and social skills development with such games as Flower Pot Egg Hunt, Modified Kickball, Balloon Tennis, Parachute Games and a day of Chicken Dancing. The children have matured nicely and have been a pleasure!
Grades 1-3 will also participate in a Flower Pot Egg Hunt. Some of their other activities include a strategy/running game called 4 Corners, Kickball, various Tag games, more Parachute games, Wiffleball and Tennis. Combining grades 1 and 2 for class has worked out well. The classes are now big enough to really enjoy our games and the younger children have adapted well to playing "up" as the older children have learned to take the younger ones under their wings. It has been a great experience for all!
Grades 4-8 are finished their Presidential Testing. The children did well this year. As a reminder they need to bring in a "Healthy Alternative", which is due by June 1. So far, the children have shared some interesting foods, such as soy nuts in two flavors and humus. We've enjoyed other foods such as reduced fat crackers and 2% cheese. These grades will finish their Physical Ed Curriculum with a Lacrosse Unit, Tennis Unit and Baseball Unit.
Keep the date-Field Day is scheduled for Thursday May 22.We need many parent volunteers. It's easy! More details will follow through the family envelope.
Finally, this summer I am trying something new. I am offering two Gym Camps. The Lower Camp for incoming grades 1-4 will run June 16-20 and the Upper Camp for incoming grades 5-8 will run June 23-27. The cost will be $100 per child. Registration forms will be out in early April. If you have any questions, email me- I eventually get to it, or contact me at school with a note. Thank You! |
